Safe Water Garden is a low cost and minimal maintenance sewage treatment system, originally developed by UNICEF which is promoted by a Safe Water Gardens (SWG), Singapore. This technology is feasible for residential toilets, public toilets, schools and community toilets for the onsite management of the generated black water and grey water. The installation of SWG sanitation system is widely practiced in Indonesia, with the around 700 Safe Water Garden installed in the time duration of 4 years. This technology prevents the spread of diseases by onsite management of the generated fecal sludge, addressing the problems generated from unmanaged sanitation system and also preventing contact with contaminated water. This proposed technology is a user-owned safe sanitation system that is feasible and affordable for low-income households.
The proposed sanitation technique is a brand-new innovation that Eco Concern Pvt.Ltd (The Nepal SWG Partner) and Safe Water Gardens (SWG) Company (the technology provider) just introduced in Nepal. EcoConcern, is the only company permitted to design, consult on, and build Safe Water Garden technology in Nepal.

In January 2023, EcoConcern installed the first Safe Water Gardens (SWG) technology system at Jhaukhel-3, Changunarayan Municipality.
